They've hit back at the plans
Residents have said they are "extremely distressed" over plans to extend an off-licence's operating hours to 24/7.
One objector stated in a letter: "There are no 24-hour off-licences in this vicinity, meaning it would become the go-to place for night-time street drinkers."Labour councillors Abdul Hannan and Jonathan Pryor, along with Green Party member Tim Goodall, also raised objections. They said: "This proposal would lead to additional anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance and potential safeguarding concerns with people hanging around.
In their licence application, the premises operators asserted that the shop was under CCTV surveillance and any criminal incidents would be reported to the police. They stated: "It is my responsibility to ensure that my licensed premises is safe for the public and staff for the activities taking place, both inside and outside the premises."
