New DWP boss to face questions on cost of living, benefits and support for disabled people

New Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mel Stride, is set to face questions from MPs on November 30 in his first meeting with the cross-party Work and Pensions Committee, chaired by Sir Stephen Timms MP.

Mr Stride is expected to face questions on his priorities for the rest of the Parliament, including how DWP plans to support people through the cost of living crisis. He is likely to be asked about measures announced in the Autumn Statement and issues around the benefit cap and the adequacy of benefit levels.
