Christina Chong, who starred as DI Nicky Rogerson in the BBC drama, let slip that the cast have been pencilled in for later this year. When asked about its return the 41-year-old also gave hope that her character will be back. ‘So I have been asked about a season. Is it seven? Yeah.
Fans of the police thriller have since remained hopeful it could return, looking out for any clues that it’s in the works. Actors have gave plenty of hope for them to cling on to. The BBC series ended in 2021 Martin Compston, who played DS Steve Arnott, shared at the end of 2023 that the cast’s group chat name was subtely adapted. ‘We have a chat group called “Line of Duty 6” and a while ago Jed changed the name of it to “Line of Duty 7”,’ he teased.
