Plans for a 51-space pay-and-display car park on the Donkey Field near the Wrekin Course junction have been approved by Telford & Wrekin Borough Council. This is the third application for a car park on the site, with previous plans for larger car parks in 2012 and 2022 falling through due to escalating construction costs. The new car park will include two disabled spaces, two electric vehicle charging spaces, and a layby for a catering van. The council hopes the car park will alleviate dangerous roadside parking, particularly during weekends and public holidays.
Plans to build a new pay-and-display car park at the foot of the Wrekin have been given the green light.-based planning company Design with Nature Ltd for the car park to be built on a nine-acre L-shaped patch of land known as the Donkey Field on the north-eastern edge of the hill, by the Wrekin Course junction.
