There are nine public holidays next year, including an extra bank holiday due to the King's coronation
Millions of people will get to enjoy some much-needed time off at the start of next month. New Year's Eve, which is classed as a normal working day, is usually followed by a day off on January 1.
However, as January 1 falls on a Sunday this year, Monday, January 2 will be the substitute day. This will be the first of nine public holidays in 2023.
