Staveley and her partner Mehrdad Ghodoussi owned ten per cent of the club and were widely regarded as the face of the Saudi regime but has since sold her shares in a surprise move.The October 2021 move wasn’t Staveley’s first foray into football—she had previously played a key role in brokering the £210 million sale of Manchester City to Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Mansour in 2008.
