The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Tuesday placed the Luzon power grid under yellow alert, following the forced outage of four power plants.
In an advisory, the NGCP said the Luzon grid will be on yellow alert from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A yellow alert indicates that the grid has thin reserves based on the difference between supply and demand. "Four power plants are on forced outage, while three others are running on derated capacities, for a total of 2,145MW unavailable to the grid," the NGCP said.KBK, GMA Integrated News
