A heatwave is recorded when temperatures are 25C or above for three consecutive days
Northern Ireland officially enters a heatwave today as it is the third consecutive day where temperatures have reached 25C or above.

On Wednesday, the highest temperatures are expected to be recorded in the west.
On Friday, sunny conditions will continue, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 26C. Saturday will see sunny conditions and a gentle breeze with maximum temperatures of 24C. By Sunday, things will feel a little fresher with temperatures hitting a high of 22C and light rain showers and wind in the forecast. There will also be a risk of thundery showers over the weekend.
