Kyogo made a sizzling return to centre stage as he surged Celtic back to the top of the Premiership with a 3-1 win over St Johnstone.
Celtic had chances before breaking through. Matt O’Riley’s corner and Carter-Vickers' shot brought a scramble in the box where there was a delay as VAR checked for a handball against Saints defender Luke Robinson. Kyogo also failed to take a one-on-one opportunity when springing clear of the away defence and Tomoki Iwata had a shot kicked off the line.
But the second goal came moments after the restart with Kyogo again involved as he spun in behind the Saints backline to gather Greg Taylor pass. The Asian didn’t waste much time delivering a ball across the box and Kuhn was alert to get ahead of his marker and knock beyond Mitov. The keeper produced an excellent save to keep out a header from sub Stevie May, but fellow replacement Connor Smith was quickly onto the rebound and slammed high into the net. Alistair Johnston saw yet another strike ruled out for offside before the finale, but the job was done for Rodgers. Here's three talking points from a rain-lashed Parkhead:
