Indulge in a classic British dessert with this fuss-free recipe from Nigella Lawson. This quick and easy sticky toffee pudding is perfect for cozy winter weekends and can be served with your favorite toppings.

A classic sticky toffee pudding is just the winter warmer you need to cosy up with during the chilly weekends. Nigella Lawson has concocted a quick and fuss-free version of this British favourite, making the decision to try it out a no-brainer. In under an hour, whip up an indulgent dessert ideal for any setting - be it entertaining guests or snuggling up for a quiet evening at home.

What's more, it's served your way: on its own or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of cream for extra indulgence. Following Nigella's own words from her 'Nigella Bites' cookbook, expect to serve six to eight people with this 'cosy' classic, reports the Express. Here's your guide to Nigella Lawson's easy-peasy sticky toffee pud:Ingredients:* 100g muscovado sugar* 100g self-raising flour* 200ml milk* 1 egg* 1 tsp vanilla extract* 50g butter, softened* 100g pitted dates, chopped* 200g dark muscovado sugar* 50g butter, cubedMethod:1. Get the oven heated to 190C (170C if you're fan-assisted) or Gas Mark 5 and generously grease a 1.5 litre pudding dish. 2. Grab a hefty bowl, throw in 100g muscovado sugar and the flour. In another container, whisk together the milk, the egg, vanilla, and butter until smooth, then cascade over the dry mix, folding everything together with a wooden spoon until it's all friendly and well-acquainted. Incorporate the dates into the mixture, then pour the batter into your prepped pudding dish. Don't fret if it appears a bit scant - it will puff up during baking. 3. Evenly scatter the remaining 200g (one cup) of dark muscovado sugar over the top and dot with small chunks of butter. Gently pour 500ml (two cups) of boiling water over the mix, then pop the dish in the oven. Set your timer for 45 minutes, but bear in mind that the pudding might require an extra five to 10 minutes. The finished product should have a springy, spongy top layer, while underneath, the butter, sugar, and boiling water will have melded into a rich, sticky sauce. 4. Serve up this treat with your preferred accompaniment - vanilla ice cream, creme fraiche, or double or single cream
