Two boys, aged 16 and 14, have appeared in court
Two teenagers have denied murdering 16-year-old student Rohan 'Fred' Shand in Northampton last month.
Fred died after being stabbed near the Cock Hotel, in Harborough Road, at about 3.35pm on Wednesday, March 22. A post mortem examination found he had died from a single knife wound to the chest. Two boys, aged 16 and 14, also from Northampton, who cannot be named because of their age, were charged with Fred's murder. They both pleaded not guilty when they appeared at Northampton Crown Court yesterday, April 24.The boys were remanded back into youth detention accommodation until their trial, which is due to begin on Monday and set to last for two weeks, according to Northamptonshire Police.
