Rain is back in the forecast this weekend, but it is not a washout.
Published: May. 11, 2024 at 8:34 AM EDTCLEVELAND, Ohio - A system is moving across Northeast Ohio on this Saturday, bringing an initial round of rain and rumbles this morning followed by scattered showers and storms this afternoon and evening. Because the system will be slow to depart, isolated showers may linger on Mother’s Day, but most locations stay dry. Then, another system arrives in the Monday-Tuesday time frame bringing more rain and storm chances.
Once the initial round of rain exits, there will be a dry period before scattered showers and storms develop into the afternoon. Severe weather is still not expected, but there may be some small hail with the storms in addition to heavy rainfall. High temperatures rise to the low 60s, and the wind shifts from southwest to northwest between 10 and 20 mph.
Mother’s Day on Sunday sees a partly cloudy sky. An isolated shower or two is possible, but most locations stay dry. High temperatures rise to the mid 60s.
