A man has died after being found critically injured inside a car following a shooting in suburban Melbourne, with three other men on the run.
Police are searching for three men involved in a fatal shooting in Melbourne’s western fringe on Sunday that ended with one of the alleged offenders knocking on a neighbour’s door asking for directions.
They allege a man got out of the Mitsubishi armed with a long-arm firearm and confronted the two men inside the BMW before firing a shot into the front windscreen of the car, killing the passenger.Police say the driver of the BMW then drove 500 metres away from the scene of the shooting and called 000 to report a man had been shot before leaving the area.
