Partygoers at a festive ball in Nottingham are complaining after being left with barely any food at the event. The Snowflake Ball at the Pitcher & Piano, promoted by Live Republic, promised a 'night of elegance and festive magic' but attendees say the buffet was quickly decimated, leaving them with just a few scraps.
Party -goers have complained after paying £56 for a festive ball in Nottingham where they ended up with hardly anything to eat. One reveller said the buffet looked like it had been decimated by locusts by the time the lengthy queue subsided - and all she was left with was two pieces of pitta bread, a new potato and some mayonnaise. Another claimed she was told they couldn't have any marshmallows or fruit because the chocolate fountain had broken.
Tracy Brooke, of South Normanton, and Michaela Bonner, of Bramcote, attended the Snowflake Ball at the Pitcher & Piano, in High Pavement, on Saturday December 21. The event, promoted by Live Republic, was advertised as a black-tie 'night of elegance and festive magic'. Tracy, 60, of South Normanton, said: 'We booked it ages ago. We paid £56 and were saying to everyone it's going to be a fantastic night. 'We got chatting to a couple of ladies who had come as well. Then we saw there was a huge queue for the buffet. By the time the queue had died down, there was nothing. It was like a swarm of locusts had been at it. 'There was a tiny corner of the Pitcher & Piano given over to this buffet that you or I would put on if you thought you were going to feed 20 or 30 people and there were hundreds there. It was pathetic.' Tracy added: 'There was no customer service, so I went to the hosts and said there is no food and we've effectively paid £56 to get into Pitcher & Piano. They just looked at us with dead faces. There were no apologies, no one saying we'll go into the kitchen and make some more food for you guys. 'My girlfriend went upstairs and she said it was getting ugly. There were men complaining, saying 'this is disgusting, where's the food?' The staff asked her if she wanted to go behind the bar because it was getting aggressive, people were complaining so muc
