Road closures planned for repairs to a bridge struck by a lorry on Nottingham's A52 have been postponed due to industrial action affecting the city's tram network. The closures were scheduled to begin Friday, October 4th and last until Monday, October 7th but have been cancelled due to 'unforeseen industrial action'.
Road closures facilitating repairs to a bridge that was struck by a lorry on the A52 in Nottingham have been postponed due to industrial action - with the city's tram network currently heavily reduced. The A52 QMC roundabout and a number of roads surrounding it were going to be closed from 8pm on Friday, October 4, until 6am on Monday, October 7.
Colin Whyatt, GMB Regional Organiser, said the union had been working to resolve the dispute and accused tram operator Nottingham Express Transit of "dragging their feet". GMB had wanted a five per cent pay increase this year, along with a RPI plus one per cent rise the year after.
