Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper's Reds prepare for return to Premier League action
The season may only be a few games old, but Nottingham Forest have still made a positive start to the 2023/24 campaign.
With the Premier League’s resumption on the horizon, Forest will no doubt have a number of things they will hope to achieve in the upcoming block of matches. Elanga has been superb in his first few outings for the club since making the switch from Manchester United. Fingers will be tightly crossed that his injury isn’t serious - and it was described as a “minor” one by his national side. Signings settle Forest’s squad overhaul wasn’t on the same scale as last year’s, but they were still busy in the transfer market. Not least on deadline day, when seven new faces came through the doors.
Hitting the ground running can be tough, though, even for experienced players. Owner Evangelos Marinakis himself said in his open letter to fans that “time and patience” will be required for those new to the Premier League. After Burnley, Cooper’s side have a trip to reigning champions Manchester City, a home game against Brentford and an away match at Crystal Palace. That clash at the Etihad aside, it’s not a bad run of fixtures. Forest will think there are points to be had.
