Lee Braidley served for 12 years in Nottinghamshire and had previously served in South Yorkshire
A Nottinghamshire firefighter has died after collapsing whilst walking his dog. Lee Braidley was off duty when the tragedy took place on Wednesday .
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the news at around 5pm on Thursday. The service said Mr Braidley had served for 12 years at Mansfield Fire Station. Before that, the firefighter had also given significant service to South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. In its statement confirming the news, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is saddened to report the death of one of our own, firefighter Lee Braidley.
"Yesterday, whilst off duty, Lee was walking his dog and collapsed. Tragically, Lee was pronounced dead at the scene. "As well as serving within Nottinghamshire for 12 years, at Mansfield Fire Station, White Watch, Lee also served for 15 years in South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. All our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues, who we will continue to support at this difficult time."
