An off-duty NHS worker has told of the awful moment she raced onto the ice to help Adam Johnson after he suffered a fatal cut to his throat. Paula Fereday was in the crowd at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield as the Sheffield Steelers took on the Nottingham Panthers on Saturday, October 28.
Paula, a Sheffield Steelers season ticket holder, said she held Adam's hand and performed CPR on the ice. Adam was taken to the Northern General Hospital. A vigil was also held at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, where the incident happened. Ice hockey teams around the world have also held their own tributes before games.
