Almost 33,000 people have died of coronavirus in UK hospitals, care homes and the wider communityin the UK, raising the total number to at least 32,692, the Department of Health has said.
Today’s daily jump is significantly higher than yesterday’s, when the DoH said another 210 people had died. However, figures do tend to drop on Monday due to delays in fatalities being registered over the weekend. Today, the ONS revealed that 35,044 deaths involving Covid-19 occurred in England and Wales up to May 1.
