Published: Aug. 22, 2024, 11:32 a.m.CLEVELAND, Ohio – The field hockey season has begun, which means some of the top players in Northeast Ohio are already starting their journey toward postseason awards.
While the ultimate goal is a shot at a state title with their teams, we’d like to highlight some of the players you’ll be hearing about this season.Elena Girault, Shaker Heights, Sr. Girault was a second-team all-league and a second-team all-region selection last season. A defender, she led the Raiders in defensive saves.Jerro earned second-team all-league last season, along with second-team all-region. A Depauw University commit, she will start in goal for the Blue Streaks this season.Killeen returns for the Explorers after earning second-team all-region last season. She scored six goals and added six assists in 2023.
