Hundreds of supporters could be seen clashing on the city's Argyle Street with police officers attempting to separate individuals. It comes before both sides meet at the National Stadium for a 3.30pm kick-off with the Gers' looking to cling to the Scottish League Cup. Christmas shoppers could be seen hiding in nearby shops as chaos erupted on the streets of the city centre. In a clip seen by the Daily Record, fans can be seen running down the busy shopping street wearing Santa hats and setting off flares, as police attempt control the situation.
Following the disturbance on Argyle Street a large group of fans can be seen being escorted up Union Street then near Central Station in order to be put on trains for Mount Florida. In an image shared with Glasgow Live, supporters can be seen gathered behind a barricade of police officers next to the back entrance of St Enoch Centre.
