PC Chris Heffernan resigned while under investigation but has now been included on the College of Policing barred list
A Lancashire police constable was told his behaviour amounted to gross misconduct after engaging in 'sexual activity' with a colleague during his shift.
The public accelerated hearing was led by a panel including legally qualified chair Paul Forster, police panel member Claire Cooper-Moore, and independent panel member Kathryn Foreman. It concluded that Heffernan's actions breached the standards of professional behaviour, namely discreditable conduct, honesty and integrity and duties and responsibilities and the breaches amounted to gross misconduct.
Although Heffernan had resigned while under investigation and consequently avoided dismissal, he has been added to the College of Policing barred list, confirming that the breaches amounted to gross misconduct.
