Prime Video is bringing Oshi no Ko live-action adaptation following the release of the anime series back in 2023.

The live-action series is directed by former actress Hana Matsumoto and Smith, with Ayako Kitagawa serving as the upcoming series’ writer. Oshi No Ko live-action series is produced byBased on Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari manga series of the same name, it was announced at the end of the trailer that the series will debut on the streamer worldwide on November 28. It will contain a total of eight episodes.
The upcoming series will feature former members of Japanese idol groups, including former=LOVE member Nagisa Saitō as Ruby and former Nogizaka46 member Asuka Saitō as Ai. The rest of the cast includes Kaito Sakurai as Aqua, Nanoka Hara as Kana Arima, Mizuki Kayashima as Akane Kurokawa, and Ano as Memcho.
Fans of the anime franchise are in for a treat this year, as — in addition to the live-action series — Oshi no Ko will also release a sequel movie, set to premiere in theaters on December 20. It is directed by Smith . The forthcoming series will center on siblings Ruby and Aqua, who both thrived to make it to the entertainment industry for different reasons: Ruby wants to follow in her late mother’s footsteps and become a popular idol, while Aqua intends to utilize her career as an entertainer to uncover the truth behind her mother’s death.
