Outlander actor Sam Heughan once attempted to become a Canadian citizen in order to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He admitted to walking into the Canadian embassy and demanding citizenship during a chat with co-stars Caitríona Balfe and Sophie Skelton.

The best of Outlander Despite claiming to be fixated with the comedy crime series, Sam called the show by the completely wrong name as he became flustered by his co-stars’ disbelief. Doubtful of Sam’s ridiculous Canadian ambitions, Caitríona asked: “Did you actually go through with filling out the forms or was this just a thought you had in your head one day?”
The celebrities were bemused to learn that Sam also has a pet squirrel named Chippy, while Caitríona stunned her co-stars by outlining how she had been to space.
