Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has praised Labor MP Mary Doyle for delivering a “great first speech” in parliament last Thursday following her historic by-election win in Aston.
“Mary Doyle, of course, was an outstanding candidate; she gave a great first speech in the parliament last Thursday,” Mr Albanese said during a media conference on Wednesday.
“Anyone who hadn’t had the opportunity to listen to Mary Doyle, if they look at that speech, they’ll see why it is that she pulled off an extraordinary result with almost 54 per cent of the two-party preferred vote.”
