Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says there is a “huge divide” now between the Prime Minister, Treasurer, and backbenchers.
“At a time when Australians need the Prime Minister to step up, they’re involved in this internal wrangle that’s just going to kill investment,” Mr Dutton said during a media conference on Tuesday.
Mr Dutton’s remarks come after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese ruled out changes to Labor’s negative gearing policy before the next election. It comes as an internal debate brews over the party’s housing policy as Senators seek to pass the government’s Housing Australia Future Fund legislation.
