A statue of the marmalade loving bear will be unveiled next week
A statue of the much-loved Paddington Bear is being unveiled in Manchester next week as part of a UK trail.
More than 20 statues of everyone’s favourite marmalade loving bear are being installed on benches stretching from John O’Groats to Land's End - and Manchester's will be appearing in Spinningfields in the city centre. The Paddington Visits trail launches ahead of his return to the big screen in Paddington In Peru, which is released in cinemas on November 8.
Actor Hugh Bonneville, who plays Mr Brown in the film, said: “I am thrilled to reveal we are going to be unveiling a number of benches across the UK, all featuring a statue of our beloved bear." Hugh will once again be starring in the new adventure, which will see Paddington return home to the Peruvian jungle to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, now a resident at the Home for Retired Bears.
With The Brown Family and Mrs Bird in tow, 'a thrilling adventure ensues when a mysterious disappearance plunges them into an unexpected journey from the Amazon rainforest to the mountain peaks of Peru'.Locations taking part in Paddington Visits include:
