Gary Hamilton will this month take on his first ultra-marathon in a bid to raise funds for mental health charity Kickin’ On.
A Paisley businessman is taking on the challenge of a lifetime as he seeks to raise vital cash for a suicide prevention charity.
“It was an easy decision choosing Kickin’ On having seen the help Dave and his team provide,” Gary said, “from helping people on a daily basis with real problems, and bringing communities together through organised events. Established just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Kickin’ On initially used football as a means to bring men together to talk about their mental health. It also comes after statistics last week showed the number of people dying by suicide in Renfrewshire is rising. He said: “From a Kickin’ On perspective we are just really grateful for Gary taking on this challenge and choosing us to donate to.
