New charges have been introduced at London Gatwick, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Bristol Airports.
Passengers of major airlines Jet2, Ryanair , easyJet and TUI have been warned about a price hike in parking charges at some of the UK's busiest airports. The head-ups comes as four main UK travel hubs have witnessed significant upsurge in their drop-off prices - as steep as £1 more per minute.
Rod Dennis, the RAC's senior policy officer, expressed his disappointment, he said: "It's depressing, if perhaps unsurprising given what's happened in the past, to see seven airports have hiked their drop-off charges once again this year. Increased charges at airports that have relatively poor public transport access for instance, no direct rail or tram link also seems pretty unreasonable.
Still, there's a silver lining for drivers with drop-off obligations as nine airports chose to put a halt on their charges this year. Stansted tops the chart as the priciest UK airport for drop-offs, where a staggering £7 fee is imposed for a stay of up to 15 minutes, working out at 47p per minute.
