Heavy snowfall and plummeting temperatures caused by an Arctic blast have stranded dozens of patrons at the Tan Hill Inn, Britain's highest pub, in North Yorkshire.
Dozens of patrons have found themselves stranded at Britain's highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire, following an intense Arctic blast that resulted in heavy snowfall and plummeting temperatures. Over 30 guests ventured to the famous watering hole, situated 528 metres above sea level, on Saturday and remain cut off from the outside world, along with six staff members. The group became isolated as a result of the extreme weather, which has seen temperatures plummet to -11.

We have three real fires, and obviously we run off a generator so the heating is on 'constant' at the moment.' The pub operates on generator power and has enough food supplies for about a month, along with approximately two weeks' worth of beer. To keep themselves entertained, those stranded have been playing cards and board games, while a young boy has been performing impromptu dance routines for his travel group, reports the Mirror. Australian tourists Paul and Naomi Wright had planned to be watching Harry Potter in London's West End as part of their three-week UK family visit. However, they are still stuck at the inn and unsure if they'll make their Saturday flight home. Paul, hailing from Katherine in the Northern Territory, admitted he had never seen real snow before this trip – considering temperatures back home hover around 30
