Paul O’Grady died ‘unexpectedly’ at home earlier this year The late Paul O’Grady smoked a cannabis joint before he ‘passed away there in his chair’ at home, his widower has said. O’Grady, who rose to fame as Lily Savage before going on to host a string of TV programmes including For the Love of Dogs, died on March 28 at the age of 67.
O’Grady was given a special recognition award at the 2018 National Television Awards for the impact the programme had on helping find homes for rescue animals nationwide. The presenter also posthumously won the factual entertainment award for the TV show at the 2023 award show.
