Penn State Health announced Monday it has voluntarily paused its liver transplant program at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center to undergo a performance review with representatives from the United Network for Organ Sharing.Since reactivating the liver transplant program about a year ago, Penn State Health has been submitting clinical performance data and other information to UNOS to monitor the program's progress.

I was ready to say I'm done. I'm sick of fighting for it,' he said.It's been a rough road for Geiter dating back to 2021, when he received his first liver transplant. 'I woke up one day, and I was literally the size of a house. They rushed me to the hospital. I had to be drained of 15 pounds of fluid,' he said.Geiter has continued to face medical issues, resulting in the need for another transplant.'Everyday life is just an ordeal getting up,' Geiter said.
