An 86-year-old man remains in critical condition after he was struck by a car Friday, May 17, at Clarkston Toll. Police are appealing to the public for information as their enquiries continue.
The 86-year-old man was struck by a Mercedes GLE at Clarkston Toll roundabout on Stamperland Crescent at around 5.20pm. The 54-year-old male driver was uninjured.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the pensioner was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as critical.READ MORE: Glasgow police pledge crack down on 'disruption' amid Celtic title party and weekend heatwaveThe road was closed for several hours to allow for collision investigation to take place.
Seargeant Scott Gourlay said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us. If anyone has a dash cam, please pass on any relevant footage to us as it could assist us in establishing the full circumstances of this incident.” Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3034 of 17 May, 2024.
