A pensioner has died after a serious collision in East Belfast
The collision happened on the Newtownards Road at around 8:30am. The man, who was in his 70s, and was a pedestrian, was struck by a lorry close to Dee Street.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "The Newtownards Road, which had been closed for several hours, has now reopened."Investigating officers are asking witnesses or anyone who may have captured footage of the collision to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference 273 18/11/22. Information can also be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
A NIAS spokesperson told Belfast Live: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 08:30 on Friday, November 18 2022 following reports of an RTC on the Newtownards Road area, Belfast.
