She was the most doting family lady and Margaret always looked forward to gathering the family for a party and she always ensured there was plenty of food and drink to go around. Geoff was a well-known and respected figure in the local community, having followed in his father’s footsteps as the owner and managing director of Fred Kirkham’s Coaches.
Travel played a significant role in Geoff’s life, and over the years, he visited many countries, but it was Spain that truly captured his heart. After a day spent working in the garden, they would often relax on their patios, unwinding with a drink, savouring the fruits of their labour and chatting into the late summer’s evenings.
He leaves his daughters Elizabeth and Marie, son-in-laws John and Stefan, his loving sister Hebron and her husband Andrew and their families, his beloved grandchildren Charlotte and her husband Danny, Emma and her partner Rob, Becks and his partner Gracie and Rachel and her partner Jack and great-grandchildren Joseph, Sophia and Jasper.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 28 at St Josephs Church at 10am, followed by a burial at Accrington Cemetery then on to The Whitakers Arms to celebrate his life, all welcome, friends old and new.All further enquirers: Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington. She was a member of Whalley Road United Reformed Church and a past president of Accrington Soroptimists where she made many friends.Joan’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, November 1 at 11am.
