David is using his experience to help other men
A man who was diagnosed with breast cancer has urged other men not to feel embarrassed if they spot an unusual symptom.
David, from Oldham, booked an appointment with his GP and was referred to a breast clinic again. He was later booked in for an ultrasound which showed something suspicious on his results. While David’s cancer was upgraded to stage 3 after spreading to his lymphatic system, the gruelling treatment appeared to work and he was declared cancer-free.
While the disease is incurable, David is currently undergoing treatment to help treat and manage his symptoms. “I try to raise as much awareness about male breast cancer as I possibly can because I don’t ever want anyone to feel the way that I felt.” “I put one in a community centre in Oldham a few weeks ago and the woman who runs it asked me to come in because there was someone who wanted to meet me.
“With men, we don’t talk about health. It’s just teaching men to be a bit more mindful about their own body.
