A social media perfume expert, Emelia, shares tips on how to make your perfume last longer than usual. She suggests applying at least three sprays, one to each wrist and one to the chest area, to ensure optimal fragrance diffusion.

This handy tip will ensure your perfume lasts all day. For many, a quick spray of perfume is the final flourish before leaving the house. The right fragrance can elevate your style, tying together your overall look and adding a touch of glamour - particularly if it's a high-end scent. However, it's a common complaint that our perfumes don't last as long as we'd like.

Scents often seem to fade within a few hours, leaving us with a lacklustre aroma on our skin that doesn't deliver the desired effect. But this could be due to incorrect application rather than an issue with the fragrance itself. As one perfume expert on social media has claimed, many of us are actually using perfume the wrong way. The expert, Emelia, suggests that many of us are too sparing with our scents. We tend to apply just one spray to one wrist and then rub our wrists together to distribute the scent, but this isn't sufficient, and your perfume will dissipate quickly. While you might be wary of using too much perfume at once, especially if it's a costly one and you want it to last, Emelia advises using at least three sprays around your body for optimal results. Giving her tip, she advised: 'You don't have to go overboard, we don't need to douse ourselves, but we can use a little bit more than one spray. For our daily routine, we'll apply one spray to one wrist and leave it - avoid rubbing it in. This isn't because it'll damage the formula, but rather because we can add another spray to the other wrist.' When applying the third spray, Emelia recommends targeting the chest area underneath your shirt. The chest is a heat-radiating zone, which enables the fragrance to spread from your skin, making it noticeable to others. There's an additional spot to consider when applying perfume - our hair. According to Emelia, it's possible to purchase a hair perfume that matches your preferred scent, but if not, you can use your regular perfume, provided you follow some specific step
