Services affected include Northern and TransPennine Express
Emergency services are currently on the scene following the incident which occurred between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington around 7am on Monday . All stations between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington are presently shut as teams deal with the situation.
Advice for Northern passengers: Trains are currently suspended between Manchester Oxford Road an Warrington Central. To assist with your journey, you may use your ticket on alternative Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly/Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool via any reasonable route. Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.
Advice for TransPennine Express passengers: Trains will divert between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street where possible and will not call at Urmston, Irlam, Birchwood, Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway.Road replacement transport has been requested to operate from Liverpool Lime Street calling at all intermediate stations to Manchester Piccadilly in both directions. Please see station staff for pick up points.
They have relaxed some of our usual ticket restrictions. If you hold an ‘Advance Ticket’ which is usually valid on a specific train you may use it to travel on any of their trains on this route.
