A person has been hit by a train in Melbourne as continued delays to public transport come after a chaotic morning of severe weather conditions.

Metro Trains revealed a person was struck by a train about 1.10pm on Thursday at West Footscray, a busy stop north-west of the CBD.Services were suspended between Footscray Station and Sunshine, with replacement buses operating to help soothe the delays.A train service is operating between Flinders St and Footscray and passengers are advised to take a train from Werribee and change at Footscray to get around.“Check information displays and listen for announcements.

The incident has forced delays on commuters and students travelling on trains, hours after the city experienced public transport chaos earlier Thursday morning.area. Storms are currently moving over the western suburbs and will likely move over the CBD around 8.30am.
