Comedian Pete Davidson discusses the overwhelming media attention his romantic life has received, contrasting it with the focus on other celebrities' relationships. He expresses frustration over the constant headlines and reveals his desire for recognition based on his acting work.

Pete Davidson has candidly discussed the overwhelming media scrutiny his high-profile relationships have faced, contrasting it with the attention given to other celebrities who also navigate public dating.

The 31-year-old comedian, reflecting on the intense media frenzy surrounding his romantic entanglements following his brief but whirlwind five-month romance with Ariana Grande in 2018, acknowledged that it was 'pretty humiliating and upsetting' to constantly make headlines every time he was linked to a new woman.'Everyone is dating everyone and it's Hollywood,' Davidson told Page Six. 'Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keoghan. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.' Davidson confessed that the world's relentless focus on his personal life felt particularly 'embarrassing' because, as an actor, he primarily desired recognition for his professional achievements. 'I was one of the youngest-ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,' the star explained.Despite the negative experiences, Davidson maintained a positive perspective on his past relationships, characterizing his exes as 'pretty amazing women.' He emphasized that their breakups were always amicable and 'cool.' Concerning his current relationship status, he shared with the outlet, 'Over the last six months, I’m not dating. I’m starting to turn my life around.' Davidson has previously expressed bewilderment over the public's fascination with his love life, which exploded into the spotlight when he began dating Grande. Their whirlwind romance culminated in a short-lived engagement, which Grande called off later that same year. Davidson has since been linked to numerous other celebrities, including Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber, Kim Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski, and Chase Sui Wonders. Although he has dated some of the most famous women in the world, Davidson can't comprehend why his romantic endeavors attract so much attention. As he stated on the Real Ones podcast in 2023, 'I'm in my 20s and I've dated people. And for some reason, that's very crazy and interesting to people. I don't think it's interesting.' He further elaborated, 'I've been in show business for, like, half my life almost - for 14 or 15 years and on a national TV show. In 12 years I've dated 10 people.
