Shaping up to be quite something at the Phoenix Park scheme down by the Docks. Ski slope, BMX tracks, sports lake and loads more:
The new facility would comprise a 12 metre Dry Ski Slope and a three Hectare Water Sports Lake to accommodate activities such as cable water-skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing, and uphill/downhill mountain biking.
The application site occupies an area of 10.637 hectares and is situated west of Preston Marina, accessed off Wallend Road via Riversway.
“It created a successful and safely managed site for motorsport, located on land formerly known as Preston Dockland, for young people and enthusiasts to ride off-road motorcycles. “This phase of the development will however incorporate large banks of photo-voltaic collectors on the embankments of the ski slope facility, designed and installed by specialist contractors.”
