KENS 5 's 'Great Day SA' host Clarke Finney Romo has given birth to healthy twin girls as she continues to recover from a brain injury that took her off-air in October. Just months after suffering a brain injury, Romo announced in January that she was expecting twins. The journalist has kept quiet online as she focuses on recovery, but in a social media update Sunday, Romo revealed that twins Sarita and Zoey were born April 3.
'In September 2023, I found out I was pregnant and was very excited to become a mom,' she wrote. 'In October 2023, while I was working out and nine weeks pregnant, I went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital.' She spent three months in the hospital afterward 'relearning everything.' Cardiac arrest is the most common cause of hypoxic brain injuries, which can result in neurological disabilities affecting thinking, vision and movement.
