A gangster who was helped by his son to smuggle guns and drugs into the UK is amongst those who has been locked up this week in Greater Manchester. Also locked up this week was an 'aggressive' sexual predator who attacked a young woman on a train, and a delivery driver who was caught with a suspicious looking piano.

An 'aggressive' predator sexually assaulted a woman on board a train to Manchester in what police have called a 'terrifying' attack. Following an investigation, Berzins, of no fixed abode, was jailed for seven months. He pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault. Asim was also called in by other criminals to assist with ‘enforcement’ in underworld disputes, Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court heard. “Father and son were in it together, and were regarded as such by their customers,” prosecutor Tim Storrie KC said.
The victim tried to shift her body during the massage in a bid to stop Hughes but eventually stood up to challenge him and noticed he was aroused. She fled his clinic in tears and was so upset she had to stay with friends for a week. Francesco Role, 45, claimed he had driven from Dieppe, France, when he was quizzed at the border at Newhaven, East Sussex, in November last year.
