Bargain Hunt auctioneer Charles Hanson has been pictured arriving at Derby Crown Court where he is standing trial.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges at a hearing on February 7 last year.The TV personality was photographed today arriving at court in the rain. In pictures captured by PA photographer Jacob King, he was donning a shirt, green tie, grey trousers and a black coat, while holding a blue umbrella.
Hanson is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm between May 13 and 17 2020 and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour between May 2015 and June 2023the Derbyshire TelegraphStephen Kemp, prosecuting, has begun opening the crown's case against Hanson. He told the jury that the couple had married in 2010 and it"started happily".
"However, as time went on, things began to change and Charles Hanson began, on occasion, to use violence against his wife, that's what the prosecution allege," Kemp added.Hanson was charged with actual bodily harm, assault and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour - all of which he denies. He was previously handed bail on the conditions that he lives and sleeps each night at his parents' address in Ashbourne Road, Mackworth and does not contact his wife directly or indirectly.
