Pier Head will come alive with a range of family-friendly events, music and celebrations
The annual celebration will occur across the city centre from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28. Pride Classical kickstarts the weekend with Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears on the mainstage alongside a 32-piece orchestra.
They will be accompanied by drag artist Danny Beard and West End stars Alison Jiear and Ashford Campbell. The family-friendly event is an important fundraiser to ensure the main Pride event, which takes place every year on Saturday, remains free for all. You can find tickets from £30 here.READ MORE: Restaurant loved by celebs that became best in Liverpool
Headlining the Saturday showcase is Katrina, formerly of Katrina and the Waves. She'll be accompanied by talents including Kelly Llorenna, Kelly Wilde, Natalie Abel, Brenda Labeau, and DJ Dan Walker, along with a range of local artists. In addition to this year’s main stage, the festival site at Pier Head will also contain a marketplace of LGBT+ merchandise and products, food & drink as well as lots of activities for all of the family. This year a dedicated Young People and Family zone has been added alongside a CommunityEXPO of local services and organisations. This year also sees accessibility take centre stage with British Sign Language on all stages and accessible viewing areas at the march and main stage.
Launching as part of the weekend programme is Pride Spotlight, a new initiative from LCR Pride Foundation that supports and celebrates LGBT+ artists. Lady Sian, Róis, Sarah, WMNKND and Gogo Dancers are among the artists set to perform on the pop-up stage.
