Leslie Ronald Woodall faced a three-day trial in the Brisbane District Court this week.
A central Queensland pilot has been found guilty of dangerously flying a small plane which crashed and killed a British tourist.
Shortly after this manoeuvre the aircraft rapidly lost altitude, before the wing hit the sand, causing it to roll. The prosecution told the jury the decision to turn the plane went against industry training and constituted the criminal act of dangerous operation as that is what caused the crash. In a police interview, which was recorded in March 2019 and played to the jury, Woodall told detectives "There were very few options available to me".
