Locals fear The Pub music venue - and Lancaster's wider night-life - are threatened by potential noise complaints from future residents
Nearly 2,000 people have signed a petition against a city centre development they believe could kill off nightlife in Lancaster.
Lancaster planning officers are recommending city councillors to approve the application, with sound-proofing conditions. 'OUR VENUE HAS GAINED AN ENVIABLE REPUTATION' Robert Morrish, of Lancaster Castle Holdings Ltd, trading as The Pub, has written to object to the flats plan. "Furthermore, the management team fully understands the responsibility they have in maintaining harmony with neighbours, regularly taking steps to ensure our activities do not negatively impact upon the businesses operating in close proximity.
