North Lanarkshire Council confirmed they are seeking to “withdraw current funding arrangements” for those living at McAlpine Court in Wishaw, run by Hanover Scotland.

Plans to cut back on services provided at a retirement housing complex in Wishaw has been blasted by relatives.

“The meals provided there are excellent and having the meals in the dining room means my mum can have a bit of company and a blether with others. In a letter to residents and their families, Hanover stated: “We have been contacted by North Lanarkshire Council as they would like to complete a review of the Housing Support Service, we deliver at McAlpine Court.

“We would be most grateful if you would provide your consent to take part in the assessment so that the council obtains a clear understanding of the benefits of the service.” “This review is in keeping with the approach taken by neighbouring local authorities and also reflects the approach already taken within our in-house NLC complexes.

“Where tenant needs assessments have indicated care is required, individual arrangements have been made by social work staff.
