The local authority has received a planning application concerning the shop in West Main Street, which it proposes be subdivided to create a hot food takeaway and cafe, in addition to various alterations to the shop front.

North Lanarkshire Council will determine whether to allow a butcher’s shop in Harthill to become a hot food takeaway.

Rather than an entirely new business, the takeaway would be relocating from another unit in the same street.Get all the news from your area – as well as features, entertainment, sport and the latest on Lanarkshire’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic – straight to your fingertips, 24/7.
