The early verdicts are in
The first riders in almost four years have boarded the famous Valhalla boats at Blackpool Pleasure Beach - sparking mixed bag of initial reviews. From "it was worth the wait" to "I'd wait some time before experiencing Valhalla," thrill seekers have taken to social media to give feedback on the Viking-inspired coaster, which had been shut since autumn 2019.
One rider, @Chelscream tweeted: "Absolutely SOAKED but it was worth the wait. Got two rides on Valhalla it was incredible" before commending the park's CEO Amanda Thompson and her engineering team for doing a "great job" on technical rehearsals. While self-proclaimed theme park enthusiast and Pleasure Beach 'super fan' @JoeyAmarin was also among the first passengers to brave the fiercely-popular ride.
In a series of tweets, Joey said: "Walking around chatting to different groups, it seems some people got a run through on Valhalla with only limited effects working. I guess we were lucky, as our ride was really good. Remember it is “technical rehearsals”. They are ironing out the kinks until it is perfect."
Giving his opinion on Valhalla in his latest vlog, Scott, who owns several parts of Pleasure Beach roller-coasters including The Big One, says he experienced "no fire and or water vortex" before adding that there were a number of sound issues, with low-volume audio and difficulty hearing the soundtrack.
